Emergencies

Property Loss:

1. Report the Loss: Contact your insurance agent as soon as possible, providing the date of the loss and a detailed description.
2. Document the Damage: Take photos or videos of the damage.
3. Keep Records: Track expenses for emergency or temporary repairs. Keep damaged items separate from undamaged ones for inspection by the insurance adjuster. Don’t dispose of anything without their approval.
4. Create a Detailed Inventory: List all damaged or lost property, including purchase dates and locations. If possible, include original receipts for each item.

Obtain Repair Estimates: Get estimates for repairs or replacements. If the loss involves theft or vandalism, report it to the police immediately.

Auto / Car Accident:

1. Report the Accident: File a report with the presiding police department and forward a copy to your agent.
2. Contact Your Agent: Provide the accident date and details. Obtain a written estimate for repairs from your preferred body shop.

Inspection and Authorization: The insurance company will arrange an inspection of your vehicle. Do not make repairs without their authorization.

General Liability Incident:

1. Notify Your Agent: Report the date, time, and description of the incident. Include names and contact details for injured parties, property owners, and witnesses.
2. Legal Documents: If you receive any legal papers, forward them immediately to your agent.

Workers’ Compensation Incident:

1. Provide Medical Services: Offer immediate medical care as required by workers’ compensation laws.
2. Report the Claim: Contact your agent and provide necessary details (employee’s date of injury, address, Social Security number, etc.).
3. Follow Instructions: The insurance company will provide further instructions after receiving the claim.

Note: If the claim involves a fatality, file OSHA reports within 8 hours.
Reminder: Wyoming is a monopolistic state for Workers’ Compensation insurance, meaning coverage must be purchased through a state-controlled fund. We do not offer Workers’ Compensation insurance in Wyoming.
